Zijun (June) Shi

I am an Associate Professor at the School of Business and Management and (jointly appointed) the School of Humanities and Social Science at HKUST. I am also an affiliated faculty at the HKUST Big Data Institute and SZ-HK Collaborative Innovation Research Institute. My work applies theories and methods from economics, machine learning, data science, and psychology to investigate how AI and digital technologies can be leveraged to (1) enhance human social and emotional well-being, and (2) improve market efficiency. My research is situated at the intersection of healthcare, artificial intelligence, and social platforms.

I received my Ph.D. in Industrial Administration and M.S. in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University. I hold a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.​​​​​​​
